The gypsy who walked into the dawn will always have my heart!

A gypsy man came here one day
And stole my heart from me!
He made such promises of love that I
Could scarce believe.

He led me blithely down a path
With roses and a lake so blue
And all the while his eyes he kept
Upon the road in view

He walked away, down roads alone
And left me home to cry
Because his love of gypsy ways
Was stronger then his love

I sit here now and wonder why
I cannot hate this man
I guess it is because my love
Lies in his gypsy hands

Don’t give your love to gypsy men
They cannot ere’ be still
Their feet must wander dusty roads
And leave hearts unfullfilled

He still abides so deep within
That life is only smoke and mirror
I find his voice, his touch so near
Ee’n tho’ I know I err

I think once touched by Gypsy love
The rest of life is ruined
He is my love my reason that
I breath and watch those roads

But I go on alone and sad
Pretending I am fine
But daylight and the dusk of night
Brings gypsy to my mind
