Softest sighs in whispered quiet
A whistle in the dark of night
Silken voices caress my ears
As the scent of madness enters my mind
Barely aware of skins light touch
A scratching heard at the door
Lucifer’s voice whines his commands
And madness permeates my mind
Whirling, dancing without the music
Songs only in my cloudy head
Colored lights tickle my perceptions
Yes, madness lives in my mind

Sandi,
Great work! As a person who lives with schizophrenia, myself, I know how difficult it is to recall those first moments...This piece captures the mystery of that instant well.
