Old to New
Long distance information, get God, for me, please.
I gotta tell Him, to stop botherin me.
He's making my life miserable, cause He's making me see,
what a hopeless coward and reprobate, that I,
tend to, be.
I didn't ask Him to intrude, no siree.
I was doin just fine, as happy as can be.
Then His voice I start to hearin,
His ways, He's tellin me, are the only things,
on this here planet,
that can save a wretch like me
I never even heard the word, wretch, before,
He came knockin, and kicked in my door.
I was chasin all my dreams, and catchin a few,
then He came along, and Now all I do":
is try to plug my ears, and do what I used to.
But He ruined all that, cause ,
I now I know it's true ,
If I don't change my ways I'll never make it thru,
To the place, where strife,
aint no more,
thru to eternal life, that's what,
He, has in store.
So if you see me a readin, His Holy Word,
and changin my point of view,
don't be surprised, there's naught, I can do,
but contunue to please Him,
and make His ways, my own,
and if you don't like the new me,
if your not inclined to go, with,
then, please, just leave,
me alone.
Cause after all the whinin and bitchin,
that I do,
I gotta have Him in my life, His light in me to shine,
His Love and forgiveness, have made me someone new.
And if you take a closer look,
you'll like that: new, guy,too.
You'll see this poem in my: few pages at a time, novel, I'm posting in my stories section. I wrote, it, from Bret's point of view. He won't be able to run from God this time, with Abby, and all the rest.------ He's a done deal.---Art
I wrote this one right here, instead of word, and it still changes the spacing when you hit ,Update. This was all single spaced, and centered. with no breaks anywhere.---What's the deal?

word doesn't always work either.Sometimes nothing works right, so don't let it rattle you. I enjoyed this lighthearted poem with the strong message. Excellent, Art!
