Perhaps it is not

her I love.

Not her wistful

gray/blue eyes

but what they reflect--

some dusted, discarded

image of myself

that reappears

to my stunned

surprise.

 

Perhaps

it is not her many virtues

that I see,

but that younger

hopeful

reflection of

Me.
