something (of the) HEART ignited

Poem Artwork
I was drawn nearer
Then I fancied (at first) to
Give face to the curiosity I felt…
.
…‘I cannot silence the beauty of this night,’
A voice murmured.
.
And when the words
Entered into me
Something (of the) HEART ignited, as
I began sensing the vinegars of
Another’s excruciated life
Coursing sorely over
A wounded-hearts complexities…
.
…‘My throat cries a velvet sound,
That stems from an alizarin sky
Waterfalling in a wintery voice; speak
To me so I might soar of stars and skim
New moons and maybe once, sing for you’…
.
Then
.
Ideas fell upon me
In an upsurge of emotion,
Fully, as a soaking cloudburst;
Becoming (in time) a fertile-ground
Advancing both of us together in search of
Unsung songs - for words unspoken -
For sights unseen – in the hope
Of being more
Of seeing more
Of sensing more
Without undoing the
Delicateness of a shared cultivation…
.
…‘Play me your song of shadows and
Adorn me in crystal strings of icicling obsidian.
Spring cannot be far off.
For I single out your sigh among all
The other trembling branches
To shudder with another
As I am open-eyed but asleep; for you
Come as a dream folded and footstepped’…
.
As it was…
.
There were no requisites
Or formulas between them - other
Then their shared hope of ascending
Together into wholeness on
(Parenthetical wings)
Where both could
Fly unflustered
For a season
Over fields of silhouette,
Into an apportioned poise
Held together in a common-ground
Of all those things (in them) unrequited
.
I remembered today
.
Being drawn nearer
To what appeared (then)
As something it wasn’t, but that
Turned out being something I’d never expected;
A gifted traveler, who, with wounded eyes,
Helped me (for a season) to BE…
.

AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT IN TIME, HIS SPIRIT COMES. WE KNOW NOT IN WHAT FORM HE WILL COME, BUT HE KNOWS EXACTLY HOW TO APPROACH US. FOR SOMETIMES HE'S COMES FLOATING IN ON THE MELODY OF A SONG OR, OUT OF THE BLUE, A FORGOTTEN AROMA THAT HASN'T BEEN INHALED IN YEARS. OTHER TIMES HE MAKES HIS APPEARANCE IN WORDS READ OR HEARD. OFTEN THOUGH, IT'S IN THE PRESENCE OF A 'WISPY' STRANGER - UNEXPECTED AND OUT OF NO WHERE AND WE ARE IMPARTED ALL WE ARE YEARNING FOR IN THAT MOMENT. BUT THOUGH THE GIFT-GIVER'S 'INSTRUMENTS' MAY CHANGE, HE DOES NOT. AND WE KNOW DEEP IN OUR HEARTS WHO THAT 'SOMETHING' IS, BY WHICH WE'VE BEEN TOUCHED AND IGNITED...TO BE. WE NEVER FORGET SUCH A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE, BUT THEN, WE'RE NOT EVER SUPPOSE TO. WELL DONE, RICHARD, WONDERFUL TESTIMONY. THANKS FOR SHARING AND A WONDERFUL MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

your ability to observe your good self no matter what tells us of your stable recovering. Right, you are not alone, never, especially while weathering tough season. The Yang notes come up in your voice here, Richard. Cheers, alex

This "gifted traveler" must have meant a great deal to you in that season of your life.

A long journey to arrive at where you need to be. Far too many people don't connect the dots of their lives, usually leaving out that which is distasteful, and as a result end up with lots of Yin and short of Yang. Balance should be drilled into us from early childhood, i.e., take both the good and bad experiences both as lessons to never be forgotten. There are many "gifted traveler" moments that some merely ignore and pass in the night. Your excursion was well worth the time you must have put into it.
