the oneness of two dreamers drifting

Poem Artwork
A thought came to him
Up there, reclining with her,
On those high branches
.
Both of them snuggled
As lazy as lazy is
Resting peacefully
.
Softly he proffered:
.
Is it too farfetched
Suggesting you consider
Journeying with me
.
To the Hebrides;
just us, open air trekking
The Isle of Harris;
.
The oneness of two
dreamers drifting in currents;
those special moments
.
Embracing each day
with trust and vernal gusto;
Love building bridges
.
We (as one) roaming
the brooding Lewisian Gneiss
(Whispering secrets)…
.
Can I run with you
on sandy beaches and lochs,
near moorlands and crofts,
.
Riant together
on the white and turquoise sands
Of the Luskentyre?
.
Would you trust in me,
and run with me, in concert,
and never look back?
.
Are you listening?
Or is that snoring I hear
(So lazy on top)
Your way of saying later
We can take that adventure…
.
Sleep tight my love…

A sardonic plea for understanding the "what ifs" for all of us to ponder, especially when expressed during those lights-out conversations often getting philosophical as one party is psyched up, the other often trying to stay awake, but the sleeping giant needs his or her sleep.

Liked how you pictured an adventurous life of a nomad or roving animal. Good work here.

Only after a good meal and allowing it to get slept away. And then, as human counterparts, will need substantial cash to get to such exotic places described. For, to dream like this, one must already be in a very comfortable place.

Still, wonderful to read and imagine.

a happening is to be always happened, this or that way. A piece of happiness and of thoughts about it in reality. Cheers, alex

By the third stanza, I was smiling; then, as words flowed, admiring, chuckling, carried along with the bold proposals and joyous travels (for you had me loping along through the mind's journey). As my sweetheart and I age together, we are likely to choose the easy way. So goodnight.
This is so unique and beautiful in its meandering way. Thank you for giving your best when you write!

Sincerely,
Connie

They are such beautiful creatures. We resemble them in so many ways.
I count the assembly of vivid imagery here and feel drawn to it's nature.
Thank you for sharing this x

Amazing. Love this poem. This is my kind of poem, what I like to read, a poem that can be read on various levels, with an inventive quality that is quite original. Well done on this one. John
