Wick and Flame...

"I never made one of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking." Albert Einstein

Poem Artwork
I don’t remember days,
But I do remember moments
Giving light to the unspoken;
Occasions when two hearts
Burned as one flame;
(A candles conflux
Creating shades
Of Blue
Umber
Aureate
And orange)
Nuanced interplay
Defying and defining the dark;
Loves perfectly imperfect harmonies
Quivering and fluttering like candlelight;
There is life and rhythm in the flame…
.
(Perhaps)
From the unseen
All possibilities begin to
Form within the mind, and,
From the spirit a spark is placed
Upon our beating hearts that
Ignites within us purpose
.
And when clear eyes
Are busied with language,
They are like a glowing wick;
A transition surrounded by light.
And then… what we’ve been shown,
Others will see as well for the given time…

INDEED, ONE MUST CAPTURE THE MOMENT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF INSPIRATION FLOWS CAUSING ONE TO ABSORB AND TRANSPOSE, SO BEAUTIFULLY, THE WORDS GIVEN. WICK AND FLAME... THANKS FOR SHARING, RICHARD. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I love the omagery you have created. Love for the moment when only two hearts really matter in the whole world.

It's true that we don't remember days but only moments that served to define us.

I really liike this, Richard. My favoriate line is "I don’t remember days, / But I do remember moments ."

Exactly and hooray for those moments we can latch onto and and relive with a smile, or relive as something learned.

Nicely done with deep insight. What happens when we burn the wick at both ends?

I like how you compared love's anomalies with those of a candle's flame. Those lines also had something to do with "insight" implied by the quote from Albert Einstein. We see more clearly through imperfection than through narrow-minded, dogged pursuit of perfection. For mere perfection may be leading us the wrong way.

Excellent poetic insight!

Love the image (symbol perhaps) of the wick and the flame. I have used it myself on occasion. A sensitive poem highlighting, as you say, "moments", not days.

Isn't it amazing that when we are enlightened, we can see clear across forever.
My favorite line is "And when clear eyes
Are busied with language,
They are like a glowing wick; "

That's when the heart has its speak, Love your
deep imbedded meanings.

Thank you for sharing your talent ,

Have a blessed evening.

Always thought of Einstein as a mystic. Might you be one, too?
