A resounding treatise on all that is questionable at best, and disheartening at worst. I've reached much the same conclusion. I have a handful of respectable journalist I follow, and the list shortens every year. At present, the few that report and comment on the news with dignity are: Brooks and Shields on PBS Hour, and Fareed Zakaria on CNN. Sad to witness such dwindling conscience.

You have covered the territory very well. Unfortunately, the vast range of almost instant verification of any political stance on the Internet, makes people almost instant experts on almost any subject. There's a real need to elect officials at all levels of government who are responsible to the needs of the people they are supposed to represent in a representative democracy like we have.

It's a bit hard for me to think of the Claymore, with its broad firepower taking out a whole sector of a line of combatants as a very good metaphor for what media does. It is one of the most inhumane and vicious weapons conceived by man. But I think of the flamethrower when I think of what comes out of the mouths of some. It's hard to have a civil conversation when you're met with the hot flame of discontent.

No one is perfect, but when the media try to judge a person with today's eyes and go back 36 years ago when getting naked and passing the joints were the norm, and when girls were just as crazy as boys in a party, you just can't justify what had happened. Yet, the media is vastly filled with hatred it is astounding to know how much hatred there is when they set out to destroy yet another man's life. Guilty before trial! - It just makes my blood runs cold and I feel sad for all the hatred so carelessly shown to target just one man to destroy his life and the lives of his family members!

36 years ago was another generation. You cannot use today's eyes to judge what had happened and you just don't know if the woman is telling the truth. Even her best friends testified she had not gone to such parties. She reads her statement from a well-prepared script. Some of the questions asked were out of the scripts she could not answer. Her lawyers are working for free, and yet, she has opened up two GOFUNDME accounts receiving totalling more than 1 million for herself! She has yet to tell the public how she will spend the money that was donated to her.

I think all the young men now should be more careful when texting on their cell phones, they must make sure they won't say anything that will come back to haunt them 36 years from now, for who knows? That will be a completely new generation in 36 years when texting and sexting may be considered as text-rape illegal activities which may bring them to trial.

All I'm saying is each generation produce the young men and women born into that era and we should not judge them with today's eyes. America should knock off all the hatred. Feminism is a crazy cult and is out of hand. It is just inhumane to have so much hatred towards someone when we don't know the truths!!!

That's what happens when you have 24 hours of air time to fill, and opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. And our current potus is not at all shy about stoking the fear, and bringing out the ugliness we are now seeing in tribal politics.

So true and so well written. I watch from the distance, far from the fray, but feel equally disgusted. Who are these people, talking their heads off on TV all the time as if they have something enlightening to say, and getting paid for it to boot.

Someone will be along soon to bury us all in a common grave. We have been carefully given the wrong rules to that game where one player gets all of the money, property and power. It was originally invented during the market crash of the 1890s to show the monopolistic evils of mindless greed. Good work, rlc.
