Poem Artwork
And so it goes…
I write,
delete,
write again,
delete again,
deliberate,
take a break,
return, sit back,
ruminate, postulate,
acclimate, another break,
take a walk,
return,
write,
delete,
sip hot tea,
think woe is me,
but then, somehow, a
pool of light forms in my sight,
and some words begin to breathe…
.
encouraged now
.
I reach up to
the unseen wisdom
to offer me guidance,
waiting to taste
the lasting words (always)
alive with a scent of new rain
.
20,000 ft.
and climbing,
outside, a smear of
water droplets chase
across the window,
I can see,
in each droplet,
a war of turbulence…
.
far below us,
empty plains
and dead grasses
are all that remain of
a once fertile landscape…
.
ask the restless wind
which leaf on the tree
will be next to flee,
and how clear it becomes
that our time here is fleeting…
.
quietly, a Nelumbo
bud opens,
being touched
by warming sunlight,
a brief time of newness…
.
And so life goes…
I write,
delete,
deliberate,
take a break,
return, sit back, sip tea,
and begin to imagine
.
remote green mountains,
where a vague sound of distant flutes
drift within a lingering rain… here,
.
beggars in
shadowy rags seek
to inhale the freshness
of creative zephyrs, where
life is lighter than a cloudless heaven,
and where the soul of imagination lingers
yet, in the scent of all things beautiful….

INDEED, YES, I'M INCLINED TO AGREE ...SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT. OTHER TIMES INSPIRATION FLOWS IN. AT 75 I FEEL A CONTENTMENT IN THIS BECAUSE I'M REMINDED...IT'S ALL 'HIM', AND WHEN HE GETS READY HE WILL IMPART. YET, AS I'VE ALWAYS SAID, THERE'S SO MUCH BEAUTY THAT CAN BE FOUND IN THE WAITING...SUCH AS THIS SHARING. THANK YOU, RICHARD. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS.

I work easy cross-word puzzles on flights. I'm stuck at the 3rd-grade level, but that's about where 90 percent of the battle takes place. We came in over Ireland a few years back at 500 feet. Everyone on the ground was waving, even one old-timer on a tractor. What a welcoming group!

Beautifully rendered exploration of a writer's often struggling moments. Your choice of words was spot on. If only more of the tweet-minded would read your work, perhaps some would go the distance, as you have, and lay down some connected thoughts that truly are worth remembering. Kudos.

I especially love paragraph 7 "And so life goes", it is my life all the time, how did you know that about me? LOL -e-

Its always the little sweet things that kind of get our creative juices flowing Richard, isn't it. Wonderfully written, great penmanship . God Bless. xo
