I still can see
that row of candles
flickering as your spirit
took flight, and how
diminished I felt,
as if a part
of my own heart
had been torn away….
.
but the moment,
that I felt the most,
was a week before you left,
when one last time, your
eyes met mine,
and calmly you confided,
.
All’s ok,
don’t ever grieve,
within your heart I’ll dwell,
and all the mem’ry’s that I leave
throughout your life will tell,
the story of a carefree pair,
the you and me of we,
a tale of trust
and friendship fair,
with joy, remember me….

Between the Cracks - A Monumental Journey Series
with every perfected place word in a compact of love.
True friends are hard to come by these days when we are spread everywhere by our constant moving and moving on. Even the best friends may end up in the distance mist of age, no longer communicating.
Thanks for sharing with us your most intimate thoughts.

This reminds me of the moments before my hubby's passing. I was lying next to him in our bed when suddenly, I asked him, "Honey, do you know I love you a lot?" To which he replied, "Of course, I know." Then I asked him again, " Do you love me too?" And he replied, "Of course, I love you too!" Then a moment later, he suddenly inhaled a few deep breaths then he was gone. It was truly a miracle that we both had chosen that precious moment to exchange our vows of love to ensure each other once again.
