I quietly crept down the stairs to for I had heard a sound.
I came quietly into the living room to see what could be found.
There by the chimney stood an intruder dressed in red.
Now I knew there was nothing to dread.
He was not taking things but putting things under the tree.
He slowly turned and gave a wink toward me.
“What are you doing up, my son,” He said. You should be in bed.”
The smile on his face told me I had nothing to dread.
He turned to his work and when the stockings were stuffed
He lay a finger beside his nose and let out with a puff.
Then to my amazement up the chimney he flew.
As he flew over head he yelled, Merry Christmas to you.
