Alias, Elves

I simply let my imagination go wild on this one:

Poem Artwork

There is one day each year when leprechauns lose garbs of green.

On this one day no green can be seen.

 

For one day each year as a favor to Santa they don clothes of red.

They do not answer to leprechauns but as elves instead.

 

This Irish secret is theirs to keep and keep they do.

They will help Santa deliver toys to me and to you.

 

Instead of singing of Irish delight

They sing Christmas songs like, “Oh Holy Night.”

 

They busily work at packing Santa’s sleigh full of toys.

Things like bikes, Barbie Dolls and G.I. Joes for all good girls and boys.

 

If on Christmas Eve one of those elves is what you see

Tell him to say hi to Miss. Molly McGee.

 

As the elves and Santa fly away you will hear

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.
