Silence’s End (Idea courtesy Paul Simon) Whispered in dreams, or so it seems, between creased seams, echo the sounds of silence. Where thoughts abound, go round and round, and never quite come out. Hallowed in halls, weathered on walls, the shadow of doubt, comes through. The leaves of the trees, sense the unease, what is it all about? The subconscious mind, its meaning unwind, as if trying to find, its way out. Someday the silence will sway, push the folds away, and shout! Copyright 2008 © Ronald W. Hull 2/2/08

When I read this poem last night the worst kept echoing in my head. A great piece will do that to you.

As you said to me the other day, we all without exception end in silence! A particularly painful reality to a composer and musician like my self. But though I admore the Simon tune, this says more and Perhaps (like my poem of Silence recently) we should all make its acquaintance sooner rather than that inevitabe later!

I came by Sunday looking for your weekly post but alas you posted on Monday. I am glad that I returned and didn't miss this gem. I love the way that your poetry sways and banters back and forth revealing the yin and the yang that is always present in all things. Wonderful poem!

Ron I love the rhythm and rhyme of your poetry, and the theme is always excellent. Sometimes the sound of silence is louder than any other,when trying to break through the barriers we erect.
