I saw a flock of English Sparrows devour some bread we put out

Birds of a feather,
flock together,
and ravishingly attack,
their meager food.

Each one in turn,
with individual yearn,
and intent that greatly,
reflects their mood.

Quick to fight or flight,
when threat of might,
signals danger is,
on its way.

As one for all,
a frenzied call,
beware anyone,
that chooses to stay.

For danger strikes,
in the blink of an eye.
It may be unwise to sit,
and better to fly.

Safety in numbers,
is a good rule.
Unless you're the one,
chosen to be the fool.

A bird's life is precarious,
but aren't they all?
All for one,
and one for all.
