Trumpty Dumpty

I don't hate Donald Trump. I think he's a great celebrity, a larger-than-life character that has taken great risks and made and lost a lot of money. But I don't think he will make a good president. People seem to be enamored with celebrity and wealth, as though they are characteristics of greatness. For some reason, they want royalty, the very thing this country declared independence from and designed a Constitution to eliminate.

Therefore, I can see his appeal among those who feel they are being oppressed by one thing or another because Trump always puts on his best showman positive twist to everything, even though it may just be another big loss that he will sweep under the rug and go on to the next big thing. It's what entrepreneurs and many politicians do, but not what makes this country great. Impossible or unkept promises have nothing great about them.

We can't afford those kinds of risky activity. What makes this country great is making it great for everyone, and not just those special people who are apprentices to riches and privilege or bow down and get favors from the king. The simple fact is that very few good people are going into politics because it is so corrupted by money. Until we can fix that, we will continue to have government run by puppeteers behind the scenes and not by we, the people.

There are several songs and YouTube videos by this title.

I did not read or view them to avoid a Melania moment. ;-)

Trumpty Dumpty

Trumpty, Trumpty, Trumpty, Trump,
Trumpty, Trumpty, Trumpty, dump.
all the King’s horses now over the hump.

All the people wave, and all the people cheer,
music to everyone's, insecure, insensitive ear.

Says what they want to, but cannot say,
says things they only secretly pray.

They all want a strong man to lead them on,
sheeple with agendas and opinions strong.

They know what they hate, but feel powerless to do,
they look to the Trump god to carry them through.

With simple phrases solving complex tasks,
the Trumpster dispatches worries everyone asks.

He's the Rush Limbaugh bimbo they all love,
fix this country right from a penthouse above.

Going to make other countries pay for this one's mistakes,
he's always right because he makes more than he takes.

Brash, pompous, sexist and racially ridiculously bold,
he's the living reincarnation of PT Barnum of old.

And we all know what PT Barnum said,
it's all about profit and feathering your own bed.

Trumpty, Trumpty, built a great wall,
just like Humpty Dumpty, he's in for a fall.

So if you want to make this country great again,
Trumpty, Trumpty, dump Trump because you can.

Oh, my goodness, I am a plagerer, almost, sorta. I think I didn't, but if I did, please don't throw me in the slammer - the cats need me. My poem was to rant my sincere outrage, but I love yours and the nursery rhyme flavor.

Ron, You want two sociopaths in the White House? Have you forgotten the past....White Water, Deaths of people who knew them, lies, deceits, never responsible, being picked on, misunderstood...sexual conquests, Gennifer Flowers, Paula,(cannot recall her last name,) Monica Lewinski. And they always, ALWAYS, are found guiltless...

Always,
Deborah

A compelling, well-reasoned & well-written preface, Ron. As for the poem, not sure what to say other than it is quite clever.

I must say words you place on paper are cute but I don't agree.
I agree with this poetry from another poet, La Belle Rouge...

So let's all vote for sillary Hillary

who gave top secrets to hackers

takes funds from foreign backers

left our people in Benghazi to die

and claimed that a video was why

then on congressional testimony day

shrugged her shoulders, all she could say

"What difference does it make anyway?"

if none of her hi jinks matter to you

put her in the White house this fall

that's exactly what you should do

personally I think she should go to jail

if you or I did those illegal things

we'd be in a secure cell without fail

Let's give everybody everything for free

but remember who will pay....you and me

take the guns until only criminals are armed

and those within the law are easily harmed

Oh Sillary Hillary you will fit right in

as the political leader on that hill of sin

and when your policies have had their day

I wonder if your supporters will want to stay

in a Shaira law state no longer brave or free

casting a vote for Ms. Clinton I cannot see

I just got my Voters Registration card that I thought I could not get because of my background, but now that I have it, I have no clue, who to vote for, as I hate both of the main runners...maybe I will write somebody in, maybe your name, Mr. Hull...-e-

From your intro to your poetry, you paint, in my opinion, a "Hillary" canvas! Ouch!

A great play with words on a very topical subject. We will of course have to wait and wait until we see how all of this plays out, but for now, we can enjoy your poem for its insights and verve. John

I would love to say something really profound but, not clue where to start. Your right though it takes qualifications to put the right people in the right job. Thank god , we are not run by a king. We have people in various positions that are responsible for various tasks to keep this country great. Like the Secretary of State who has specific responsibilities . Let's all pray that the next great "leader" knows what a qualified person looks like and puts him or her in the right job. Isn't that really the best we can hope for given the mess where in. Things suck. Don't they?

Unlike your poem, there seems little rhyme or reason with politics.

As my friends know, I don't discuss politics. I may not believe as another person does but I must respect his/her right to believe as he/she does.

Love ya!

Trump has to be the most unqualified person to ever run for president, and what I find to be the most perplexing is the evangelicals supporting Trump, an immoral/amoral person if there ever was one.

Trump's presidential ambitions,
has left this country with scars and bruises.
And if the Donald wins,
America Loses.

This poem allows the irony of humor to make lighter the impact of danger. We are indeed at a crossroads in US leadership, one that will be responsible for so most likely the longest list of planet damaging threats that the earth has ever known. Unlike some who would find your insight and ability to lighten the blow of imminent threat as b.s., I would say your one of the rare ones who, as I stated in my entry, "In Limbic Lockstep" have preserved and protected your ability to think and not just feel. Well done,Ron.
