George Albitz's article reminding us that many nursery rhymes were created to condition children to the danger of plagues like we seem to be experiencing now. So I thought I would update our nursery rhymes to meet the times.

The Dark Side of Nursery Rhymes

Nursery Rhymes for Our Times

Stay-at-home, stay-at-home,

do not go out; do not roam.

The wolf waits outside the door,

do not touch the ones you adore.

The King tells us everything is all right,

promising to calm an awful fright.

But we know the King has no clothes,

beware knowing what the King knows.

Eee-aye, Eee-aye, Ohh,

where did all the money go?

Down some great big black hole,

climbing back out to our goal.

All the King's stooges,

and all the King's men,

couldn't put a flimsy wall,

wind fell down, back up again.

Scream and shout, scream and shout.

Try to keep the little boogers out.

Yell to high heaven, we still will fall,

as they still crawl through the wall.

Pattycake, pattycake,

only elbows… Please!

Skip to your right, your right,

out of your playmate's breeze.

A man screams across the wind of a child remembered. Love your reality seen through the 'child within's eyes. Perfect rhythm!

Yes, Jack fell down and broke his crown, but I prefer the nursery rhymes with --you guessed it---happy endings. Now you have me reviewing them in my mind, thinking "Now how does that one end? I could have sworn these were happy rhymes"
Ah, Little Jack Horner! I like him.
3 bags full of wool --yes!
Mary, even though contrary, still gave us a lovely garden to remember.

To each her own, Ron!

We are fighting a war without weapons and nuclear missiles. We are fighting a war with an invisible enemy that depopulates the world of its people, perhaps, down to the manageable size for a one-world government. All currencies will be deemed unusable. Everyone will be microchipped to survive, only by using internet currency and coins. Old people will be eliminated so no history will be revealed to the young ones. The young and clueless will be brainwashed. I have a feeling who the future world leader is going to be, but I'm not ready to say it out loud yet just in case I'd be wrong about this.

Ron, Just what we needed in the nic'o time! I've been wondering if the "stay indoors" warning is a falsehood. I'm heading out to play in the UV rays of sunshine. Ring around the rosey!

Didn't Laurel say to Hardy...."What a fine mess we're in"....
It isn't anything we did or said....Like everything else....It just seems to happen....

Who would have thought that a simple nursery rhyme like this one could get it so right. Enjoyed and so timely. Many thanks, Ron, for coming up with this nursery rhyme and posting.

My goodness, how depressing! I've been a member of "The Old Krank bicycle Club" (50 years minimum age in club) for twenty-five years and though I no longer ride my bike, others still do but are told that while riding, even if you are six feet behind the person in front of you, that might not be good enough because the movement of air could blow the virus germ onto you.

I am beginning to think that we are Chapter One in a non-fiction, science fiction novel.

A welcome bit of levity in a time when if federal governance weren't so embarresingly void of misinformation, one could laugh at it all. Your prowess with nailing the key points is rewarding for the critical thinking reader. More, please!
