Just wondering what we would be like and what it would be like when the Milky Way collides with Andromeda a few million years from now. Would we still be here?

For while we may be cast asunder, we'll never forget the magnificent wonder, with minds entwined in a loving bind, we rode it like lightning through the thunder. For life was meant to survive, above all else because we are alive. Because we first decided to fly, and very soon after, even left the sky. It wasn't because some God or gods willed it, our intelligence told us we could go ahead and do it. We were not gods, for we were so mortal. We had a long way to learn how not to chortle. When the great obstacles of distance and time, continued to make not reason or rhyme, but we persisted to chip away at the edge, until into new galaxies, we leapt from the ledge. So many eons since then have passed, we have died in so many calamities in the past. This one is just part of our living whole, we will get through it, no matter the toll. Live or die, I'll be right there by your side. Live or die, I can abide. In for the long haul; and what a ride! Copyright 2020 © Ronald W. Ever since my father passed away I have felt like I've been finding him.
There seems so much more to life than what meets the eye.

Indeed, we are connected to the entire cosmos.
Nowt we can do to prevent the inevitable other than enjoy the ride knowing that everything in life is impermanent.

An appropriate poem for our current situation. The human race has survived many catastrophes before. We will probably survive this one. We will even be able to keep our iPhones, one of the things that distinguishes the present from life a generation ago. Now if our brains could only progress the way technology has. The dinosaurs adapted and existed for millions of years. Will we? We are more likely to do ourselves in than to have a virus do us. Hold tight to your loved ones and enjoy the ride.

Loved this one, Ron. There's such an innocent love and compassion fused in both the text and the subtextual aura. I particularly liked the way you wove into this rhythmic piece: "This one is just part of our living whole..." As we've shared often, existence is eternal, and to give it the identity of "living" adds dimension to the oft-maligned notion that there is an eternity in many forms (as Plato would say). And yes, "What a ride." Beautiful rendering of the upside of what's ahead, given the media today, yesterday, and for a time to come, must report all the downside that is happening to this particular segment of "living." Kudos again, Ron.
