Chill Comin’

I can feel it comin' in the night,

oh yeah, the winter chill.

I can feel it comin' in the night,

oh yeah, the winter chill.

For it there ain't no pill,

no winter pill, oh no.

When it comes creeping in the dark,

like water trickling downhill, downhill.

I tried to escape you going south,

but those were just words,

loose words from my mouth.

I thought I saw you comin', yeah,

I thought I knew what you did.

But I was mistaken badly,

when you crept into my bed, instead.

Under covers with the draft,

you tickled my tenders,

with that awful, cold laugh.

Although I thought I knew what you did,

Winter, you betrayed autumn instead.

So I seek the warmth of the sun in the mornin’,

cuz the chill keeps on comin' without any warnin'.

I saw what you did,

and know what you do.

Winter, oh winter,

lookin’ out for you.

YOU'RE RIGHT RON...WINTER'S CHILL HAS DEBUTED, I CAN FEEL IT. BUT I CONSIDER MYSELF BLESSED IN THAT I'M HERE IN GEORGIA...WHERE IT AIN'T THAT BAD. DOWN HERE, ONE CAN FEEL IT IN THE AM AND AFTER DARK, BUT DURING THE DAY, IT'S WARM. HOWEVER, HAVING GROWN UP IN NEW YORK CITY, I FEEL FOR THE NORTH EAST AT THIS TIME OF YEAR...KNOWING, 'THE CHILL IS GONNA KEEP COMIN' AND IT'S GOING TO GET EVEN WORSE. LOVE THE PHOTO AND THANKS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

A most appropriate "ditty" considering the time of year... ...your words about winter also bring to my mind the "personality" of the year 2020. Love, peace, and good wishes to you, Ron.

I've never minded winter. In fact, prefer it over those dog days of summer.

And in the chill of winter, a Slam artist be born. Loved this romp and clever romp of tempo and rhythm changes to put a real and metaphoric grin of understanding on our lips. Good one, Ron.

I usually look forward to winter, though this year I have felt the chill when for one or two days it did arrive, but I will survive as will we all...keep warm, Ron...-e-

I prefer winter's chill to summer's humidity myself. Your poem here is an excellent expression of the short, cold days before us.
