A little year-end blues for you. I am not in that state of mind. Just thinking that 2021 will be great while we leave 2020 and its troubles behind.

This is poem 1000 that I have posted…

One Sheet Only

One sheet only,

one sheet only,

where I rest my head.

One sheet only,

one sheet only,

to grace my bed.

Three sheets are the price I pay,

three sheets to the wind.

Drowning in my sorrows,

and all my tomorrows,

hoping it will end.

One sheet only,

one sheet only,

until you return.

One sheet only,

still so lonely,

awaiting you, I yearn.

Well penned, Ron. Glad you really don't have the blues.

WE ARE ALL CERTAINLY YEARNING FOR A NEW YEAR THAT'S UNLIKE THE OLD YEAR. BUT STILL...WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT IF IT IS? I'M REMAINING FAITHFUL, STAYING PRAYERFUL AND WAITING TO SEE WHAT GOD IS GOING TO DO. THANKS FOR THE SHARE, MY FRIEND. HAPPY NEW YEAR! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS INSPIRATIONS...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

I'm surprised at you, Ron, allowing yourself three sheets to the wind, then again it sounds enjoyable...HNY...-e-

So poignant and heartfelt, Ron. Rather ironic how the term three sheets to the wind refers to drinking to excess, drowning our sorrows, yet the longing remains. In the admission of our need, so we find the strength to endure. Blessings.

Makes me wonder where "three sheets to the wind" came from. One sheet is more than enough !
