A man-child walks
Surrounded in mist
He patiently stalks
The night with a kiss
He catches the stars in his hands
Unaware
And binds them with strands
Of black angel hair
With a sad little smile
He tenderly dresses
The night like a child
In ebony tresses
He sings through the night
In strange liquid tones
The planets are queit
Beneath haunted songs
And the heavenly host
In dreaming they weep
For the beautiful ghost
That sang them to sleep.
