This little girl, one of my students, died in the night-foul play was suspected but never confirmed

Pretty little girl

Uniform neatly pressed

A song sung in a sweet, pain-broken voice

For her, a sweet and innocent friend

A Bible verse for the meek

Of which, she surely was

The Lord’s Prayer

Rest by the still water

Bagpipes play, “Amazing grace”

You were so proud to be a “Scott”

Family has come form far away

But…where was al the love

Represented now by flowing tears

 When she was still alive?

Heart wrenching. Painful to read...must have been worse to witness.

"Family has come form far away

But…where was all the love
Represented now by flowing tears
When she was still alive?"

Where indeed? Happens much too often.

Oh my what a heart wrenching write my friend, I don't know of anything sadder than a child's funeral. I'll never forget the first child's funeral I attended, it was very difficult to get the vision of the small casket out of my mind...I nightmared on and off for weeks about it, I can't imagine the pain that the family went through. If there was foul play pertaining to this child's death, I pray that it be revealed...I can't imagine why anyone would want to harm or hurt an innocent child but this type of behavior and crime is becoming more abundant as time passes...a sad write, but well expressed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

A very good question, and such a heartbreaking story, Karen. Too many damned stories like this one, these days.

Heart wrenching sadness that anyone who loves children can hardly bare to contemplate. The world can sometimes be hard to understand...

Karen,
This poem is so sad. The loss of a child, regardless of the circumstance is very tragic and is beyond comprehension. When the child comes from a painful, abusive or loveless background, the loss is much worse. You have memorialized her beautifully, though.

Best wishes, as you come to terms with this tragedy and may God look after this little angel.
