April 4, 1968 Forty years ago today, April 4, 1968, A tremendous force was stilled. But the voice of Dr. King, So eloquent and sure, Will ring out in the realms of history, Reminding generations of the dream of equality, For his young children and theirs and mine,Oblivious to whatever the color they are.

Yes, King's speech was more powerful than anything in shakespeare.
Shakespeare was a status quo man, but Martin Luther King, how could he accept the status quo of inequality, segregation and all that unholy jazz? Well penned, Karen!

Thank you for this one. A native of Georgia, and having spent almost every year of my life in the state, I saw the whole thing from Ku Klux Klan beatings to The Rev. King's victory. We've had a mess down here trying to do the right thing without people getting hurt physically. Now, it will take decades to heal within each of us. Again, thank you. - Bill
