As I walk the lighted streets,
decorated with bows, wreaths and Santa Claus`,
nowhere do I see a manger scene,
the true reason for celebrating Christ's birth.
Where's the guiding star hung in the sky?
Where's Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus?
Where's the wise men who brought Him gifts?
Where's the animals and the hay?
There's no choir singing praises unto Him,
a Santa Claus sits stuffed in a sleigh,
a Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer song blares,
toy elves glitter with fake snow.
I walk...I search for a symbol of the beginning,
nowhere, no, nowhere, can it be found,
the absence grays our Blissful Gift,
I kneel...reach toward the Heaven and Praise Him.
