There's always that place in the heart that's kept for those we have lost, waiting for a "someday reunion"

PORTALS  TO  THE  PAST

In the quiet of the evening
or the early morning light;
In the sunshine of the noon-day
or the darkness of the night;
Your eyes,
your sweet smile,
your nearness . . .
fleeting scenes from memory's store,
fill my soul with poignant longing . . .
Oh, to see your face once more!

Folks say that
time will heal all wounds
and I think that may be true ,
But passing time cannot erase
precious memories of you.
As my heart, in reminiscing,
opens portals to the past,
I know you'll be a part of me
for as long as time may last.

"The special closeness between true friends creates a bond that time and distance can never erase.
These friends are never far from each other's thoughts, and are always in each other's hearts."

(quote borrowed from a calendar I had a few years ago)

Words of truth and wisdom and very artfully phrased to express the longing in one's heart in missing those who now are gone....

Be always safe,

Nicely expressed in a way that all those who are missing someone can relate be they brothers, sisters, lovers, parents, child or just a friend. When there is love you are right the memories never die.

In my footprints I've made many, many friends. I never forget any of them. Although I've lost touch with some...I still wonder about them. This is the one thing life forgot to give us....answers to the past and old friendship.
One of your finest.
Blessings and love,
Susan

My best friend from grade school lives 1,200 miles away from me in Ohio and the quote speaks volumes about our friendship. Connie, the poem's title drew my attention and the poem was, indeed, a beauty.

Well done and have a great weekend,
