ACCUSATIONS

Joseph was an upright man, a follower of the Lord;
A slave of Captain Potiphar, he obeyed his every word.
But the captain's lustful wife tried to lure Joseph one day;
When Joseph refused, she grabbed his coat as he ran away.
Her screaming accusation landed Joseph in the jail.
Though hurt and disappointed, with God's help, he did not fail.
Even in the dungeon, cold and stark, he lived unto his Lord,
until the day his just reward, his liberty restored.

Accusations -- don't believe them til you know.
Words are like big heavy rocks that anyone can throw
Accusations -- sometimes they are aimed at you.
Hold fast your integrity, to God stay true !

Not everyone who names the Name of God is what he seems.
Disguised as an angel of light, the devil plots his schemes.
He whispers in the ready ears of nitpickers and such,
then watches as the criticism strikes with stealthy touch.
Keep trusting God, do not despair; He knows the final day.
"Vengeance is Mine," declares the Lord; "someday I will repay."
Remember, Jesus knows your plight; He felt that anguish, too.
Though you may think nobody cares, Jesus will see you through.

It's an awful feeling when you realize you've fallen for a pack of lies told about someone, kind of like an avalanche that can't be stopped when it's started.   A horrible feeling when you're on the receiving end of the lies!  It sure helps me to know when I'm misunderstood that Jesus knows the feeling, and He is my true Friend who will see me through.

I may add another verse eventually, but I've had about half of this in my "unfinished poems" file for too long, so added to it today to get it out of there.
