I walk along the beach moistened by the ocean's cool and foaming spray,
Reaching deep inside myself I feel empty; cold as the everchanging tide which surrounds me now.
My heart; chilled and hardened by life through years of disappointment and anger,
Beats ever so slowly as my mind races through painful remembrances of the past.
I look around me at the seashells washed ashore by the powerful and turbulent surf,
Relics; not unlike ourselves, empty shells of past experiences and cruelties unforeseen.
Probing deep, eyes scanning into the depth of the never-ending expanse of the sea,
I delve into the depths of my soul in a desperate search for inner peace and understanding.
I being to realize that we, are like ships tossed by violent storms of the seasons,
Traveling life's seas of ups and downs; adapting to its cruel and oten heartless lessons.
Learning that each of us must search for our own true sense of fulfillment,
In hopes that we too, one day, will emerge at peace; standing steadfast in our faith!
