Hospital Malaise
DRGs, managed care,
HMOs, short stays, who cares
Coronary artery bypass grafts
Admitted on the morning on an
outpatient unit
Hurry up and do their workup
Skimming by will be good enough
Baby deliveries-23 hours and out the door
C-section, oh geez, okay, stay a minute more
Babies thrown out with the bewildered
Praying everything was delivered
No time to double check
There would be no reimbursement
Isn’t it so productive, efficient, and great
High maternal/infant mortality rate
News man says our system’s great
Other country’s people have to wait
He’s blind because that is happening here
Has rose colored glasses so he can see so clear
Rationalize and pontificate
Make the numbers come out the “right” way
Cut off cancer drug reimbursement
So those with cancer get to skip their treatment
They would have died anyway
It’s just quicker, more efficient this way
Arbitrary rules and regulations
Bureaucrats making medical decisions
The system's broken don’t despair
Some one somewhere really cares

I do not believe any first world country would charge for child birth, that's hogwash of a nightmare...
All Health care must be free. Here I cannot thank the NHS enough for so much, same with paramedics and fire fighters. Even my eye care is free....
There would be no reimbursement <----made me wonder if it's true, that like my dad needed state of art brain surgery, and it was free, my son born, hospitalised, free, I had weeks in hossy..free and meds...
If a country does not give free health care then what happens to the not so well off?

Been there, done that. Not pleasant at all! Oh, the care was good, but all my docs were foreigners, and my main one was a b**** with a capital B. I did NOT like her AT all.
