Heaven and Earth

The water is a Celestial mirror today—

Reflects sun and later moon and stars.

Drops of dew on blades of grass

Mirror my house of blue with roof of gray.

A white tail deer tip toes toward me

Like a gift then startles and leaps away.

Blood red berries hang from the bough

By my front door.

I never want to leave this world I adore

Yet I know other worlds are in store.

I see them reflected in the water

That surrounds me.

Between Sweetwater and Sand

Other worlds are certainly in the poet's imagination. For me, water beautifully reflects the wonder that is natural and normal around me.

Yes, I believe you do. Your use of imagery is deep and mysterious. Oh, did I mention that this piece of work is topping the charts in my mind.

Love ya!

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
