They built a house in the field ‘cross the street
Where the insects were buggin; in the August heat
Where the sunsets. I swear, were second to none
Just a field on a hill, it was my place in the sun
The porch, it sits empty, though the suns dipping low
The curtains are drawn from the skys orange glow
Today he mowed grass where wildflowers once grew

The beauty, the memories, that they stole from me

More of nature being pushed aside for "progress". Where we live, the back of our house faced a large, open field that I grew to love. Would pour my coffee in the morning and sit outside in the back and just quietly admire the scenic view. All gone now, roads, houses have taken up the space. I miss it so... Thank you!
