The cell is changing our society, and not necessarily for the better. In our area, there are beginning to be more rules. Theaters are posting warnings that patrons who talk on a cell during a movie will be barred from the theater. They remind us to turn off cells at church. I was embarrassed because when I shut mine off, it played a melody. I forgot that it would do that...........Jerry

Sooooo glad I don't have one ... but I hear you!!!! What bugs me about cell phones: when you buy a phone, you're supposed to talk. NOT text. Grrrr *meowHISSSS* *stepping off soapbox now* An excellent rant/write, Jeanette, I hear you! Manners went bye bye by way of the cell phone. And don't get me started on people who drive and talk and text on the phone!!!!!

aMEN!! I think cell phones were one of the worst things known to mankind, that and texting devices. Another thing that annoys me are those automated callers ("Press one for English, press two for Spanish" GRRRR!! Don't EVEN get me started on THAT one!! or "Your call can't be directed as dialed; please try again", etc. GRRRRRR!!!!!)! Whatever happened to human-to-human interaction or etiquette?? I think it done flew clear out the window! And besides, I'd much rather talk to a human being than some stupid recorded message or text them anyway!! Let's get back to the REAL phonse! This one got my fire up; I HATE cell phones and texting machines with a purple passion! Very well penned frustration, Jeanette; I know exactly how you feel!

Another very gross aspect of our so called 'advanced, modern' age. I soon expect human babies to be born with a cell phone plug in their ears. The majority of human beings today now seem incapable of doing anything at all without gabbing or texting someone on their cell phones - even the youngsters. And from conversations I can't help but overhear, and am bombarded with constantly, everywhere I go, they don't even have much worthwhile to talk about - yet, it now never ends.

I guess I'm more like the male shopper. I go in, get what I need, and leave. All my talking is done before and after. LOL. I can appreciate how you feel, Jeanette. I'm not sure why someone needs to gab in the store. Hugs,

Oh my, Jeanette, you are much more kind that I am. I usually just go ahead and bump whatever is in my way, be it a cart or a rump. "Oh, so sorry, just trying to get through." Works every time I've tried it.
