I liked the way you told this story... yes, it sounds like something one would read in a storybook, or watch in a movie. Very interesting and entertaining.

Joyce,
I've heard of things like this hapening before. maybe you should have a "real" intuitive psychic investigator check this relic out and find out what other secrets it holds...

Joyce, this is one of the best narrative poems I have read in ages.
I agree with a comment made below that this could easily be expanded into a novel.
In a word, this piece is exceptional.

Whoa, powerful write, here. I shivered a bit when the clock stopped at 11:55 and then to tell about the previous owners. After reading this I feel like going to an estate sell to find a treasure. You can convince anyone of anything with your writing. Excellent. Liz

I really liked the poem . Relics from the past are rare and special. I am glad you have the clock to savor and keep. The hand written note is very special too.. I felt tingles when I read it.. I have copies of old letters written by my grand and great grandmother , plus letters from grt uncles and aunts that have been preserved thru the years. Also have original news accounts of my great uncle who was a balloonist in the late 1800s and 1900s. I hope to write his story someday!........m

Oh Joyce, what a spectacular find! A little piece of history unfolded and devulged its secrets to you. The hands of the clock were trying to tell anyone who would listen and it took all these years later. Absolutely fantastic.....

An interesting and well-written poem, Joyce, and a wonderful "find" in that old clock. It sounds like a treasured piece for the origional owners. It makes me think how much we take for granted our clocks. They start our day and guide us through the minutes and hours, and we hardly even think how much a dutiful friend they are as we glance at them repeated throughout any given day.

This clock represents so much. The generations of its owner and the memories that it has held all through these years. Makes me think of that one item that I'd love to have passed on from one generation to another.

Even without the mystery aspect, your tale of the wonderful "find" was exciting and entertaining. Then the strange stopping of the clock at that significent time--leaves one speechless. All I know is that strange things do happen and we are just left wondering.

Joyce, a lifetime span of a family from many years ago, you've captured this reader with a mystery that you hold in your voice and lead us through until the last line. The images are fantastic and this reader's imagination ran wild as I visioned many things that could come to life in the ending. Makes one wonder where they lived, why did two of them die on the same day, and many unanswered questions? I liked this a lot and you captured a great poem in this writing.

This is outstanding literature. A verse that expands throughout one era and touches another. The construct of the story was gripping, the content absorbing and a tale of two tales was woven. An absolute pleasure to read.
