Iam a little boy
Only flesh and bone,
No mother have I for love
My father he has left me alone.
When I scratch my skin peels
All night Iam crying and Iam crying,
Hell God only knows how I feels.

I don't know what to do?
Don't know where to go?
My pain! thats all I know.
But,I'd like to go
Go where I could find my friends,
People say,they are in Kathmandu
With their rags and tattered souls,
Where the streets burn
Flames of hunger like burning coals.

People say,they sleep and sprawl
Beneath the shop windows,
With blows on their head
And flies over their scabs,
Glue sniffing their nose.
They wake up with mad dogs
That have forgotten to growl,
Counting plastic trash,empty bottles
With their dry lips,
Breaking a hard bread from yesterday.

YIKkkkes, I say this, when I am flabbergasted!
This reminds me of a movie we saw a month ago~
- Silent Hill -
Wow! What a movie! Same kind of scenerio but differ.
YOu must see it! Maybe on demand...
This was tough to read!
The GOV.. needs to care more for Ppl/children in partic. and Health Care! and FOOD! But, will they listen to us little folk- I think NOT... Ppl get paid well, just standing around!
Keep it POsitive somehow!

Such realities are so hard to read and visualize...but for the children living this scenario...how heartbreaking. Best the world not spend money on bombs and bullets, but concentrate on taking care of all our children!! And these children ARE OUR CHILDREN!
An eye-opening, exemplary poem, Roshan

We will always have the poor but Jesus expects us to comfort and give out of our abundance and spare to those less fortunate. He loved Children so. Thank you for sharing this one with us. and your Compassionate heart.

The poor will always be with us....and we do nothing to allievate poverty. Victor

Well written and puts things in perspective. It reminds me of being there and, like others, wanting to look after them, but feeling helpless because there are so many street children. I hope that more, trustworthy organizations are getting involved, and people keep volunteering. A very moving and all too acurate portrayal of these children's lives. The way that you write though their eyes makes it more powerfully intense and upsetting.

Truly powerful, and truly very sad, Roshan.
