This poem was the first of (6) in a series of emotionally charged poetry that I wrote right after my husband died... I dedicate them to anyone who has ever lost in love or who has had to start over in life ...Sometimes letting go can be very difficult and taking one's anger out with the mighty pen so-to-speak can be very therapeutic ...
The Pain and the sorrow
The gloom of tomorrow
I seem to face day after day
My lonely heart and tortured mind
Can't seem to find a normal way
Why must each night and each day
Turn out to be the same way
Like the one before
Day is out and night is in
I can't find a way to win anymore
There is no sun or daylight
Or stars to brighten up my nights
Or rain to make my flowers grow
I see no grass or green leaves
Or birds to sing songs to me
Like long ago
All I have here inside
Is a heart that seems to tell me lies
And a cloudiness followed by dark skies
I guess I must always stay
By myself In this lonely way
Praying there will come a day
I'll learn to live without you
Grief is a powerful feeling brought on by the death of your husband. It will take time but someone will enter your life, though the void will always be there

I lost 3 brothers, 2 children, 2 parents, and my first wife. Now in the Trade Center,
9 of my friends. I don't make sense of it all, all the time but it helps when I write.
