Our shadows can mimic us, but not feel our sorrow, happiness, joy, pain
The candle lit room was aglow in flame. Flickering shadows reflected the bedtime dance. Silent ghostly silhouettes copied passion's embrace but could not echo cries of ecstasy. Dancing phantoms, fleshless, without soul, void of feeling love were only shadows of desire. The fire grew low as the dance subsides. Apparitions left unsated when the fire went out.
Very nice -- exceptional the way you've made an emotional comparison, the couple full of emotion, the shadows devoid of any. Very cleverly written, Rusty-friend. Always a pleasure to read about how your mind sees life.
