Hem Netjer

I write to you, not as a writer, but as a friend.
My soul has become very old, it has seen many children
and many faces. I stand here at the edge of this cliff
thinking of how many times I seen the Sun go down...
Each one as grand as the first. At times, there are no words
only warmth of the blanket of Awe...you see, I have been
here many times, I have seen how man have turned on their own
kind! How greed has destroyed our own power...
When I first came here, the world was of new. Our Sisters and
Brothers were of nature. We wanted to love each other to
create peace and harmony. When we died, we wanted to come
back...! We loved our home, we loved life!
But thru time, the old ways vanished...We no longer seek
balance, we just seek power. But this power was no longer
of the heart, it greed! Yes...I too have fallen into
the depths of despair, where my world was no longer of the new.
So, I stand here watching the Sun set once again...embracing
it, entwining it within my soul. I notice it colors and
I feel it's warmth...I feel as I am a child again being
born, seeing the light for the first time...
How could so much beauty be held in so little time...
Why did we forget about this...? It has taken me a long
time to awaken, not to only see with my eyes, but to
see with my heart...we are tied to nature, and, we must
look to the old way's again.
I stand alone before thee and shed the tears of forgotten times
not of sadness...but to welcome you, the old friends
and you, who bring forth the children, of the light...

Do any of you know what Hem Netjer is...?
Please tell if you do! Oh and as you can see
that this is not a poem as well...thanks!

I can honesty say I did not know what the word meant until I read Kathy's review. It adds a lot of depth to this write. Connecting with nature is extremely important. Tears of joy when we return home :-)
