The times they are a changing!

Terrorist’s attack iconic steel,

Foreign cultures suffer the wrath of Kahn,

Kahn forfeits benevolence for maliciousness,

Heads of state succumb to yes men in waiting.

Fear loom’s on a financial wheel,

Skyrocketing debt and gold toothed barracuda’s,

A mother agasp at store shelf prices,

A father struggles to feed monthly dragons.

We hold these truths to be self evident,

Deaf mutes coalesce in sterile ivory towers,

The police protect you from yourself,

A politician, a puppet, a prostitute for lobbyist’s.

The great myth; global warming!

The Arctic will be open for boating this summer,

Floating hotels flock for a Kodak moment,

A group of Polar bears swim by, lost at sea.

A Republican’s taxes are spent on clan-destiny,

Shalt thou trust without accountability?

Slumbering Dem’s organize the great coup,

Media moguls; public programmers of conformity.

The industrialist cries for more drilling,

The environmentalist wants more protection,

A fishing trawler travels far for a pitiful catch,

The majestic Eagle feasts on road kill.

The EPA bites a bureaucratic bullit,

A factory dumps toxic waste,

A cancer cluster is born, sharks swarm,

The AMA has the answer; more toxins!

The old man pounds his fender in frustration,

Cursing the high cost of fuel.

A greedy Arab bathes in a jeweled tub,

Laughing at the absurdity of his riches.

A southern farmer loses his farm to drought,

A midwestern farmer loses his farm to floods,

A northern farmer loses his farm to twisters,

All in the same month!

The GOP or the new MOB,

Religious zealots yell blasphemy,

A young boy kneels for righteous indignity,

A young man returns home without limbs.

A 40 yr. career ends; a pension now a stipend,

The old woman cooks a can of spam,

Sacrificing food for expensive medicine,

A buyback mortgage scam takes her home.

Tinder-box forest’s ignite with every strike,

Fire-crews inundated and spread too thin,

Earth now rumbles under their feet,

While a hurricane is gathering momentum.

A New York Cabby can’t get Visa’s for his family,

Wanna-be border patrols shoot Mexicans gleefully,

Fields ripe for harvest are empty,

A manufacturing company moves south of the border.

Colleges churning out capitalists for a hefty fee,

The local plant closes leaving 10k jobless,

A high school struggles academically wants a mill levy,

A teenager slaughters classmates in blind rage.

The answer is coal/ corn/ caveat emptor,

Welcome to the twenty first century,

Where science plays God,

Where wis-dum is prophet/profit!
