Attracted by one anothers dance
each admired their different stance
one a wannabe ballerina
the other a tap-dancing stud
when a belly-dancer got involved
everything hit the mud

The notes he sang sounded off key
his rhythm didn't match her melody
the new she, was more like he, but
couldn't follow his leadership role
forming a trio, could they be a whole?

dancing on the same platform
each one strongly using different steps
they whirled in and out up and down
trying to meet each others need
but somehow never did succeed

They were among a group of dancers
who watched with fascination
as the three performed askance
trying to outdo each others gyrations

The choreography took a downward trend
no longer could they fill their wanderlust
they never got their styles to blend
so ended dancing in deaths dust

A great idea for a poem and great analogy for how it is in life and living,it is not easy to dance to another's beat,(silly in fact)we skrew it all up if we do not follow our own style of dance and rhythm.
A beaut poem.I have two left feet so no one can follow me.(ha)
Love from
kay.

Sherry has hit the mark. Nicely done, Eileen. In the dance of life, one needs to seek harmony...

This is a whole lot more about human nature than it is about dancing but it is wonderful, Eileen!!!!

OH...yes...a threesome is a DRAMA! Involved in an explosive one myself at one time with two other women, was THE inspiration for my tarot card, THE THREE DOORS! That threesome of women also appear in my novel, BLUE CORN WOMAN for which inspired the 28 cards I illustrated, all posted in my den. I also have a trio in my upcoming cowgirl novel. Drama indeed! Good write, Eileen!

They were asking a lot of each other in this disorganised trio !
Has a metaphorical feel about it Eileen, and brings to mind the old adage...two's company, three's a crowd !
