When I no longer place my words
Where others can peruse them
It may be time has taken its toll
Upon the parchment of my soul
For ink has bled until  well's dry
In pain of  friendship gone awry
When darkness steals light away
Because dreams are now in decline
When eyes are opened to the truth
And indifference becomes uncouth

Oooo - can so feel this: the pain of the dry pen scratching holes in the bleached parchment of the soul. I, too, am agonising with emotional fracture at the moment and feel that my writing lacks homogeneity: either too flip or too depressive. I like the way that you liken this barren dryness to indifference: puts a deft finger on WHY perhaps we DO experience these desertous times... and the cause of indifference, perhaps, in the first place. May your fountain be deeply refreshed from its true Source. LOL Kate xx

Well I don't care where you place your writes as long as I get to read them. ;-) Perhaps you are just experimenting with an emotion in this poem, eT, but I identify with what you've said. Very well done. ~~Nordette

Sometimes effort is placed on the wrong table..........

Everyone here appreciates your writes, and heart........

Set it free in a direction where it will be received.......with respect, gratitude, and Mutal, appreciation.........
Mutual is the key........for happiness........and balance

We all respect you here, and even if this is not a 3 dimensional partnership, know that the people who read you thru AD....do it with appreciation........and free will

if that makes any sense :)

I believe that one of the responsibilities of a real poet is to explore, on occasion, those places that do not necessarily represent who we are, or what we believe, but represent what creative thought is.

Dear One, you are one that does this fluidly!

All poets have a way of penning emotions so well that unless we draw from personal experience we don't animate very well. Your pens are always moving and bring into the mix...the emotions of your readers. All this is the correct equation to a poet's success. There are times when we feel drained, however...and just need a getaway. Take it easy.
You do it all so well Eileen.

Eileen, it's a good point, why reveal your iner thoughts to the world on paper/ why expose your dreams and fears to the online community. I think writing something that wasn't there before gives a writer pleasure, but it's good to maintain your privacy at the same time. And the web is a never-ending well... no matter how many poems you drop in, there is still room for more.
