Soft tones of pastel memories
Drift over the horizon
Lazing on my lounge at ease
Serenity a pleasant partner
Parading through my mind
The beauty of the ocean
We used to sail the seven seas
Refreshing thoughts surround me
I'm enjoying this quiet reverie
Until beast of bad times chimes in
Trying to usurp  goods place
Harsh hues of  black and blue
Join the mistral winds that arise
Now duress  and restlessness
An ocean of churning waters
I sit in disgust dreams turned to dust
Will I be able to return to harmony
Is the force of  past wrongs too strong
No! the source of right restores my light
Faith returns me to cheerful reminiscence

Faith...the substance of things hoped for..........the evidence ...of things not seen.

You have quite adroitly brought about a fulfillment of that Scripture, Lady E! You are a constant astonishment, and pleasure to read!

rebuilding the past is difficult ... with faith, there is always to the potential in succeeding your quest ... hope you achieve harmony's return ... hopefully, the desires you aspire to feel are warm and soothing ...

So many times over the past two years I have asked myself that same question and always I find that harmony is but a breath away for me if I am but willing to take it... Your poem, well written will impeccable flow, was a joy to read!

After the day is done and gone...when we look at how we spent our time and what we did to make life better...then we see the affect we gave 24 hours. We are a mere one in this world of millions who think about their days too. When we all believe in the smaller things in life that make up harmony...then notice what we past up in those twenty four hours to find a faster way to travel, a shorter cut to greed...then we are blind to details of living that make us secure and more harmonious as people existing in harmony.
We need to get the basics back and to simply BELIEVE like your pen so graciously defines.

Love,
Susan

Sometimes when I am reading your work I feel like I am sitting on a pendulum...wondering where it will take me with the next swing... ...'join the mistral winds that arise'...and this exotic wind transports us where?...with this poem, to a place where there's hope. The Mistral (and the Sirroco)...now you've really touched my heart. Panda :)x

Sometimes peace and harmony must be found in the midst of the storm. It is there that faith is tested the most severely.

It is good that we have a solid rock to anchor our fragile lives too! That lounge has magical properties I imagine.

The heat is finally breaking a little - Hallelujah!

it is remarkable to me how you take us from bliss to upset in just one line! but that is how life itself is...in one moment all is different. Naturally, I appreciate the happy ending! Faith is powerful...thank you

I love the uplifting tone at the end of your poem, Eileen; your faith arises from the mists of darkness. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you,

Eileen,

Captivating emotion and triumph of light over darkness. Very positive, uplifting ending...I was worried for a minute, but knowing your strong faith, I know you'll overcome any adversity. BRAVA!

When I sensed a battle turning. . . .
You pick up your trumpet blowing . . . .
In came the cavalry overflowing.
Such encouragement. . . .
Heaven sent.

The mechanics of this whispery poem is fantastic, you use few words to convey your talent and premise, but you use them well.

Having God as your compass and rudder in life, you will never go wrong..

It is very important to have faith in yourself, underpinned by an indomitable trust and belief in Infinite Intelligence..
