A picture's worth a thousand words And with some I'd say that's true Cow mountain is a visual delight Yet my words can give more insight When I tell you of the lovers tryst Which brought them to climb The mountain and make their vows Of love to share in future divine And on the summit they did consummate Making memories they'd never forget But for one, weeks later, death was her fate Leaving her lover alone to celebrate Each year at Cow mountain the anniversary Which became a bittersweet memory Fertile variegated mountains mystical Give a sense of peace and belief immortal
Variegated is right. She looks like Adam's rib. What an inspiration Northern California is! Magical mystery mountain tour. Remembering how we were, when the mountain was love.

I am daily rendered speechless by the natural beauty with which I am sorrounded here on my Dorset Peninsula, Eileen... but the scale is so small compared with the breath-taking vastness that you conjure here. I'm in awe. Deep calling to deep, with your beautiful anecdote, too. How deeply spiritual and magnificent... I can only liken it to the Andalucian foothills. Glad you were in receipt of such bounty to share with us back here. TY Kate xx
A bitter-sweet tale of love written as always beautifully by you dear lady.
Best wishes always to you and yours

I love the picture of the mountain!
Eileen, the photograph is a breath taking view...loved it! The lovers climbed to their dream and found their moments of euphoria only to lose their dreams...sad. His memories will always remain though...I truly liked this.

Very impressive, picture is nice too I guess, although I never understand why we need to portray the place we are describing, it would seem our words could do that. Ohay! Okay! I take that back. Kinda . . .
