Poem Artwork

I grieve loss of love, with some joy
in my heart, to see a rainbow over
a windswept ocean, one should be
glad ,filled with devotion,yet sad
because the rainbow  shows one
side, while the other side is hidden
as if our love had been forbidden
but he  dislikes to appear, for fear
of having to declare, what he does
not feel- so I mostly rely on  having
memories of the he, who cannot
see me, as a priority in his life, but
only a stop-gap when he needs one
and under every sun I wither like a
desert flower, awaiting rain while
I rack my brain, for reasons to stay
in such a one-sided affair-that is
going nowhere,yet the glorious sea
is filled with mystery,that charms
the senses, wearing down all defenses
confounding the brain, with the chance
that he might change his stance, and
since you waited so very long ,he may
surprise you with the words to your song
proving that dreams do come true , even
for  poetic pollyanna dreamers like you...

Somewhere... over the rainbow... Tender and heartfelt longing, Eileen, with a beautiful tinge of a hopeful smile and a philosophical outlook. Yes, rainbows do this for us, and so much more... like love lost and found. Bright, colourful and yet elusive. You've struck gold with this one. Bless you, Kate xx

You have penned a most thought provoking write, using the rainbow as a metaphor. It's like...you know you can never see the other side of that rainbow, but yet...a rainbow was a sign...it was a promise.
I cannot say or dare to speculate, but these thoughts just came to me as I read. May your dreams be realized!
Ty Eileen
Grace and peace be with you

Bitter sweet poem. Great metaphor. A desert flower usually lives only for one day, at most two. Times arrive when one has to be realistic. Victor
