Poem Artwork

The clouds didn't just tease this time
grass glistens like silver from the
first rain in six months, i love it

i walk just for the joy of it,without an
umbrella,but only around my aparment
feeling like a kid again

a sliver of lightning,thunder, and a gust
of wind ,chased me inside as the rain
became a deluge

sitting with a cup of tea, cozy and warm
my thoughts became scattered,until I
fell asleep, then awoke heavy laden with
a dream

i thought i was in another place and time
there were a few strange looking people
dressed in leaves and bird feathers

they  had long hair and drawings on their
faces,i couldn't make out,and green grass
gloves on their hands

they had something that looked like a wand
and were waving it at me in a go away gesture
but it seemed more in fear than threatening

i asked where i was and who they were, and
they disappeared,i stood in a daze hoping they
would return, instead

i awoke in my chair,it was still raining,and i
couldn't decide whether i was really awake
or not,so i went back to sleep

a weird day that made me feel like an alien
as i wandered in and out of sleep until this
next day, probably from too many pain pills...

The mystery of dreams...
an intriguing story.
It's funny to see the word "alien" as I have just posted something about
an encounter with an alien. :)

ET, some describe bad weather like bad news, you have described one like Walt Disney was putting words with magical colors, who cares if it is reality, fantasy or both...you gave us a gift. Thanks.

This is a watered down version of a slight nightmare, you should have Dr. Freud, or Bonnie look into this, it must be sort of a repressed issue springing from all this wet. Hugs! Jasmin Horst

Love it! We just went through a two day storm as well. Everything smells so squeaky clean now. Just not my horses. They enjoy rolling in the mud, lol.

Surrealistic setting you wove in that long-awaited rain . . . Oh, go ahead, GET attached to your feelings, they are, after all, YOUR feelings, if you can't get attached to them what the heck good are they . . . Rave on, chilin', rave on . . . Gotta love it . . .

Some dreams do feel like the real thing and the influence of pain killers can magnify them.

ET,

Beautiful poem of a rain storm. Nothing is more relaxing, as a gentle rain. I was surprised, I got caught in one yesterday myself, it was great. As for your dream, rather strange, but most are.
