The day dawned dark and drear
Pockets of gloom filled the air
Thursday the first day of a New Year
We will overcome the gloom with cheer
We'll make sure the lights shine bright
Pray 2010 gives us God's splendid sight
That will keep us on the road called right
Facing the future heart and soul strong
Determined to do right and not wrong
Praising our Creator as we go along
With our voices gaily lifted in song
