Poem Artwork

The beauty that arose out of the mist
took my breath away, I was taken
by surprise at the vivid colors of the
scene before me as the sun splashed
over all making it look surreal like a
gold tinged rainbow .

In the midst of the meadow a stream
so pristine you could drink from it, some
birds were doing so,   as what looked like
pixies danced across the waters into a
bed of profuse wildflowers...

A blue bird with redbreast trilling a
lovely song  hovered over my shoulder
just as a stunning white unicorn sauntered
up from behind me,and nuzzled my hair
I slowly turned my head to  see it

Enthralled and overwhelmed, by the beauty
I firmly reached up to touch it behind me
whispering as I did so, it gave a gentle whinny
nudging me again and I knew to get  ready
to mount for we'd travel together  for awhile..

I sighed in unison with the serenity I'd found
Thanked all of the spirits chanting  sounds
Unicorn knew it was  time  to stomp  ground
all the rhythms of nature began to resound
I hopped on  and we were celestial bound
over the rainbow

If I had that dream, the unicorn would turn into an ogre. ;-) Wistful is the word.

Indeed off you totter. but why is it that in so much text and films we see them when only maidens are supposed to see unicorns.
Keep with the stars and all the enchantments.

Eileen, when I woke up on Jan. 1st I was pleased to no end to be greeted by a rainbow over the southeast side of town...I took this as a good sign.

Eileen, you've hit a soft spot in this crusty old heart, unicorns -- my eldest granddaughter was fascinated by unicorns when a wee child --at one point in time when she was five or six, I asked her what her favorite animal was -- her reply, unicorns, still not realizing they were mythical, imaginary creatures -- now in her teens, we still get a good laugh when we talk about unicorns -- your poem is perfectly mystical and painted with a brush of great love and beauty -- I hope your ride is as fascinating as your wonderful poem my friend -- peace and love be always with you -- Jon Michael

Isn't it grand to have such fantastic sights going on in our heads!!! You describe something only a writer can see. It is vivid in color descriptions and I can hear the creatures of this area and feel the energy of the Unicorn. Nicely written ET I enjoyed this one..
Peace, love, and light,

This is the Paradise we all seek, but few find while earthbound, Eileen. The descriptiveness of your words are outdone only by the loveliness of your thoughts and words . . .
