I am the Grandmother of Nine and I am lucky enough to watch over two of them everyday as their parents work. This of course gives us the opportunity to have a closer relationship. As I tuck them in for their little nap I sing to them the words I have written. This song was written especially for them, I hope over the years they will learn it and who knows, one day they may be singing it for their children.

Rest Little One

Close your eyes our little one,
Close your eyes and rest awhile.
For you have dreams awaiting you,
Special dreams for just a child.

Count the star that shine above,
See the clouds up in the sky.
Just close your eyes and rest awhile,
Close your eyes but don't you cry.

I can see you as you're sleeping,
I hear you breath so loud and clear.
Dream sweet dreams our little one,
Close your eyes and rest my dear.

Count the stars that shine above,
See the clouds up in the sky.
Just close your eyes and rest awhile,
Close your eyes but don't you cry.

Always know that someone loves you,
More than words can ever say, |
Close your eyes our little one,
As we guide you through each day.

Beautiful lullaby to the littles ones and as a grandfather of three I can so relate to your words and the passion in your heart for the kiddies.

Rose, this is a heartfelt poems that fills me up. I have always told you, you have a way with words. Every poem you put down on paper certainly confirms this.
