The Beauty Of Adoption

There you were, this bundle of joy,
Beauty was all we could see,
For soon you would become our child,
 A part of our loving family.
 Soon our hearts would be filled,
With a love so true , in return dear,
We'd give all this love back to you,
Oh how we cried as we held you,
You may never know the joy we felt,
We looked at that beautiful face of yours,
I tell you dear, our hearts melt.
 We watched and protected you so,
So afraid of you being harmed,
We watched over the years,
That seemed to go by so quickly.
 We cried the day you walked,
The day you first started school,
When you fell in love with that boy,
We knew you were finally a young lady,
We dreaded  that thought,
For we wanted you to be our baby forever.
 We were blessed with you,
Our precious baby girl.
When you graduated, I cried so hard,
For now you were an adult,
But when you danced with your dad,
And I saw the pride that he held for you,
I knew that you would always be our baby,
 And that dear is the beauty of adoption.

no matter how old you get, promise
