MAGNETIZED!

I had fun writing this two years ago!

 On the fridge,
         like a bridge
                   of magnetic
attempts,
words
links
questions
         like ants
                   form a line,
                   diligently.

Thoughts?
         Messages?
Who is the recipient
         of my kitchen poetry,
removable
ephemeral
disposable
         and useless?

Between the dishes
         and the coffee machine,
                   the questions
         a towel
and a bunch of words
         thrown to myself,
carefully,
         but watch out,
life's a bulldozer
a mess
a sticky kitchen floor,
         even
a tired old lamp.

New inspiration,
         maybe just before dinner,
the words
one by one
         detached
                   and,
late at night,
recombined
         into a brand new meaning
                   of domestic wisdom.

         There,
         ready for breakfast,
a wish
a mantra
my wit
my solitude
         atomized
         magnetized
on the fridge,
         for my eyes only.

Who would have thought of a poem about refrigerator magnets? Obviously someone with a "magnetic" personality such as you!! Nice one.

I now look at what is hung by magnets to my frig. Not inspired words as you have here, but Pizza Hut and Pizza Inn, The plumber etc. I think you have changed my thinking for the better again. Excellent poem. Liz

Axilea,

You ask: 'Who is the recipient of my kitchen poetry?' I'll g l a d l y accept - this is absolutely beautiful. You've penned your thoughts and they're proudly displayed on the door of my heart - well done, your best yet!

Axilea, my fridge is the same, as is the top of my desk. Inspiration often comes when we least expect it...and those phrases and strings of words are what put everything into motion.

Sounds just like the way my refrigerator looks. Words, phrases meaningless to others, but a wealth of information to me. Very enjoyable and witty....

Be always safe,
Karen
