In sated near-slumber

Upon my neck
As mine gently stirs
Your mink brown hair.
Did you know
You whisper in your sleep?
I listen hard
To catch the words
And smile a misty smile
When I hear
"I love you"
Sighed against my skin.
You've never said the words
While awake,
But I'll wait,
Knowing they're there
Inside your heart
