The Rainbow
Born from showers coloured by the sun
Bursts like magic before my eye
A painted rainbow on the storm
Arc of promise in the evening sky
It flung its arch across the sea
Woven in light and varying hue
It spans the summits of my mind
A gleaming bridge from me to you
Bright its pledge from leaf to leaf
Sunshine spreads from shore to shore
Smiles of peace from friend to friend
Arc of beauty I stand in awe\
And as silent clouds of stars look on
I’m sliding over to rainbows end
Where the spirit of ancients live
That guides the love of my dear friend
