How fitting it is, as I view the stage
Awaiting the second act
That the players should huddle into their cliques
Reviewing their lines intact

There are hecklers, ofcourse, out in the seats
Jeering as each one performs
Even the actors are sometimes at odds
When thier lines are not spoken in form

But, there on the left, a knight suited up
In armor, with sword in his hand
Challenges critic and actor alike
In soliloquy, makes his demand

"Death to the Dragon, foe of the light
With rigid conceit to his own!"
The theatre's hushed at audacitys gasp
For who is this dragon....unknown?

And..how dare the knight, speak out of turn
Upstaging the rest of the pay?
I find it amusing to watch from aloft
Anticipate what others will say

Oh..there are those who will challenge the kight
And those who will stand far aback
There are ladies who'll swoon at his bravery, I'm sure
And gentlemen who'll bow...'fore attack

But I, in the bleachers, admire the knight
And toss him my scarf for his breast
While a Dragon has entered, stage right, to the front
As his fiery breat will attest

The actors assume their pressence on stage
The critics and hecklers all jeer
The audience awaits with bated breath
As the final battle draws near

The question arises, will the knight then be swift?
Or possibly ...toy with the beast?
One thing's for certain, Tomorrow will bring
Roast Dragon, on the menu, to feast!
